Nelson Bay Swim Club
“Building a tradition, one stroke at a time”
Our home is Tomaree Aquatic Centre. Nelson Bay Swim Club is registered with Swimming NSW, the governing body for swimming in New South Wales.
We are one of the oldest swim clubs in the Coast and Valley Region. At Nelson Bay SC, we are interested not only in the development of swimming as a sport, but also in how swimming can help develop young people. Our purpose is to promote and nurture our members in the sport of swimming.
At Nelson Bay SC, we encourage participation not only on club nights, but also progression within each swimmer’s ability. This includes Development Meets, Regional Carnivals, Coast & Valley Championships, Country, State Age, and National Championships. We aim to inspire every swimmer to reach their full potential.
Our competitive swimmers train and compete all year round across two seasons:
- Summer (Long Course): October to April
- Winter (Short Course): May to September
We are a not-for-profit organisation, with all funds raised through sponsorship, fees, and fundraising reinvested back into the club and its swimmers.

NBSC is an amateur club located two hours north of Sydney and just 40 minutes north of Newcastle on the New South Wales coast.
Our club caters to all abilities – from beginners attending Friday night club nights to elite age group swimmers and Masters swimmers.
